Prabowo’s suggestion to Erick Thohir: BUMN is prohibited from doing hotel business!

Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Hariyadi Sukamdani supported the steps taken by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir who wanted to wipe out the BUMN hotel business.

According to him, the hotel business in Indonesia has so far been quite healthy without the presence of hotels owned by state-owned companies.

“There’s no problem with this idea. In hotels, the competition is really perfect. So it’s no problem to consolidate it,” said Hariyadi when met at the DJP office of the Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, Tuesday (10/12).

He said that state-owned hotels were not given much attention by their parents. Like the Patra Jasa hotel owned by PT Pertamina (Persero). So this step to consolidate several state-owned hotels is considered appropriate.

He hopes that the consolidation of state-owned hotels will also improve hotel occupancy. “Hotel management is good, it’s also good for increasing visits from both domestic and international visitors,” explained Hariyadi.
