The Indonesian Food & Hotel Exhibition was held on July 26
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Food & Hotel Exhibition (FHI) will be held on 26 – 29 July 2022 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) after the previous year it was held virtually (online) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Juanita Soerakoesoemah as Event Director of FHI said that this 16th edition of FHI presented a program business matching so that customers can meet and establish business relationships with exhibiting companies behind closed doors.
This program is claimed to facilitate customers in creating business networks while having the opportunity to learn from the best professionals and players in this industry.
“FHI has become a pioneer for companies that want to expand their global market reach across world borders by providing network access to producers, suppliers, and leading distributors in the hospitality and F&B sector. “FHI also provides an opportunity for international companies to enter the rapidly growing and profitable Indonesian hospitality and F&B market,” said Juanita in a press release on Monday.

This year FHI again presents interesting events such as Culinary Talks (Cooking Masterclass, Food Talks, and Food & Beyond) by the Associations of Culinary Professional (ACP); Indonesia Coffee Event by the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia (SCAI) which will hold the Indonesia Barista Championship and the Indonesia Brewing Cup Championship to find Indonesian representatives to compete in the World Coffee Event; Wine Masterclass & Training by Indonesia Sommelier Association (ISA) Jakarta chapter; Pastry and Baking Challenge by the Indonesia Pastry Alliance (IPA); and Gelato Workshop & Class by Espresso Italia.
Apart from various events and competitions in the F&B sector, FHI 2022 also supports the promotion of local F&B products, one of which is coffee. SCAI presents a Coffee Village which provides an experience for FHI visitors and competition spectators to be able to taste the coffee blends directly from the participants.
Daryanto Witarsa as General Chair of SCAI 2022 said that FHI as the largest trade exhibition for hospitality and F&B supply products in Indonesia is the right vehicle for the presence of Coffee Village.
“We are presenting an all-star experience bar in the Coffee Village area during the FHI 2022 exhibition, where all competition participants are required to serve coffee to spectators and visitors so that they can create a direct experience of drinking the coffee made by the participants. Then, visitors can also directly buy the coffee products served in the product showcase area,” he explained.
FHI is also presented to support the realization of the Making Indonesia 4.0 road map in 2030 through the development of the F&B industrial sector which is able to contribute consistently and significantly to the GDP of the national non-oil and gas industry.
At FHI 2022, the FHI Digital Showroom is presented, a digital-based catalog of F&B and Hospitality product providers supported by Saladplate. This online-based product showcase facility provides 24/7 access which can open up opportunities for companies and business people to expand markets globally.
In 2021, FHI has also succeeded in facilitating 160 business meetings and establishing 1,725 relationship contacts from organizing FHI VirtualHub online.
This biennial exhibition, which has been running for 28 years, is proof of the long-term commitment of PT Pamerindo Indonesia as the organizer in supporting the accelerated growth of the sustainable hotel and F&B industry in Indonesia.
FHI is an international trade exhibition that can increase global market access and encourage national economic recovery after the pandemic.
The F&B industry itself is one of the industries that continues to grow during the global COVID-19 pandemic. Data for 2021 from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for this industry reached 2.54 percent, which was better than the previous year which only recorded growth of 1.58 percent.
FHI 2022 is being held together with the Hotelex Indonesia and Specialty Food Indonesia events and is also joined by Retail Indonesia which provides global access for customers to more than 140 leading manufacturing, distributor and retail companies from 12 participating countries.
To date, exhibitors have joined from companies providing F&B supply products such as Chefmate, Monin, Toffin, Dilmah, Bertolli, Anchor, Lamb Weston, Nestle, Tokusen Wagyu Beef, Skippy, Bacardi, Kin, Diamond, Greenfield and many more.
Apart from that, various companies providing hotel supply products and equipment have also been listed as exhibitors such as King Koil, Spring Air, Lady Americana, GEA Getra, Nayati, Sango Hospitality, Modena, Saint James, Vivere, Zen Porcelain, Moka POS, Riedel, Unilever, Maspion and so on.
